Le 10 août 2010 est la Journée de Justice pour les PrisonnierEs, et elle est souvent marquée a l’intérier des prisons par des grèves de faim d’un jour et d’un refus du travail. La première Journée de Justice pour les PrisonnierEs fut déclarée en 1976 par les prisonnierEs à la prison Millhaven Max. en Ontario après que deux de leurs camarades perdirent la vie dans le quartier d’isolement. Avec cette manif, on veut continuer la tradition de confrontation face à la brutalité des services correctionnels et toute la réalité du monde qui les requiert – en allant des tribunaux, la police et les technologies de surveillance, jusqu’aux murs des prisons et des centres de rétention. Pour un instant, on veut amincir ces murs et briser l’isolement et la séparation sur laquelle dépend la prison.

La manif va visiter le Centre de Prévention de l’Immigration et deux prisons fédérales à Laval. Apportez de quoi faire du bruit (et de l’attitude).

August 10th, 2010 is Prisoner Justice Day, and is often marked inside prisons with one day hunger strikes and work refusals. The first Prisoner Justice Day, in 1976 was called by prisoners at MillhavenMax. in Ontario after two of their fellow prisoners died in solitary con?nement. Through this demo, we want to continue the tradition of confronting the brutality of correctional services, and the whole reality of prisons and the world that needs them—from the courts, policing, and surveillance technologies, to the walls of the prisons and detention centres. For a few moments, we want to make those walls a little thinner, and to break the isolation and separation on which prisons rely.

The demo will be visiting the Immigration Detention Centre and two federal prisons in Laval.

Bring noisemakers (and some attitude).
